Building for the future

Updated: 29 February, 2008

We have developed a new is unique teambuilding session, in which participants create and build a dome for a school / community in which the fee for the event pays for a dome to be built for disadvantaged communities of the world.

What is Cal Earth?

Cal Earth domes are a new building technique developed in California by Nader Khalli, which involves building homes using super adobe sacking, filled with a mix of earth and cement, which is coiled round to make low cost, low impact buildings. They are also very strong and resistant to Earthquakes, high winds and are water proof. Our Pegasus charity is building a village of these buildings in Nepal for a community of 75 children from poor backgrounds and 10 staff.

What does the event involve?

A typical programme is a combination of hands-on arts based sessions and thought provoking conversations. A safe and supportive environment is provided, which ensures that trust is established at an early stage, allowing for authentic expression of the self and group identities.
